Man this blogs been a little lame so here’s what been poppin off.
After my little mishap on-top the the deep V I’d have to say that I’m up and running (biking) at about a 90% which is pretty good news for me. Just with the last week I’ve been able to put in some pretty good efforts on the bike, I just have to make sure that I keep things stretched out otherwise things wont stay so loose. Biking has been mostly on the road or on the trainer, I’ve been a little trigger shy about getting on dirt. It’s been pretty rainy and way cold so those also halped make the decisions a little easier. so what was going on before this week then?
Yup, eating and drinking in excess. I’ve packed on a little weight and built up my tolerances a little. In the process to help move things along I was also sent this from the good people of Metro Milwaukee Mountainbike Club.
30 smackers for a third place overall from Wednesdays of Mass destruction (WMD). This will be used in 2 incriments of $15.00 each to purchase none other than 30 packs of Peebers. I mean how else could you spread 30 bucks into so much entertainment?
I also had a chance to get out for Biketoberfest on Milwaukee’s deep south.
I rocked the SASS and we did the 13 mile loop that consisted of 1….2…..3…..4………5, possibly a 6th and or 7th bar but I’m not completely sure. Things got a little hazy. It was basically a poker run on bicycles only that there was no poker and the bikers were mostly Milwaukee area ‘hipsters’. they had about 200 plus bikes show and peeps were on everything townies to messengers. It was a pretty cool event and worth as a not to miss for next year. It was the same day as Beechwood but seeing as I wasn’t racing, well I guess that I went over the whole eating and drinking thing already. I did have an opportunity to take this little clever snapshot while on the route.
This wasn’t one of the more ‘urbanisk’ or trendy stops along the way, and the regulars were named Mel, Mike, Norman and the like. But I was happy to see that the establishment would however allow these 9 to 5′ers some good quality family time up until the hours of 6pm. It didn’t look like it but it must have been a nice family joint, that is until it was over run with the bikers and messenger bags.
The radar is clear but cold and things seem to be in order for the Night Race. Which will be this Saturday is also hosted by Metro. And before then…….a little Rock n Roll!!! down in Chicago is in order Thursday night
