Trail Treasures

Today Nic and I were able to take advantage of the sunshine and warm temps to get some MTBing in. We were running in circles and looping around the loops. There were some pretty sloppy sections out there but we figured that if the cross riders were out there with skinny tires and drop bars that we could handle it on some fat tire bikes.

By 1 o’clock I was shedding some clothes all while we were shredding some trail……n’stuff. Here’s a section of trail that I haven’t riden in a while and for the most part when we did we generally pedaled up the stairs section and not down and around them.

Some nice re-routes could could be mapped out around this section. That was the bulk of discussion on todays ride. Looking around for different lines and thinking of sections that could be cleaned up with the intro of some small trail changes.

One surprise came while trekking on the FenceLine trail. While riding the trail in a counter clockwise route we came across a strange correspondence that almost seemed that it was left there just for us. It was brief and indicated that there was some type of gift left for the finder of this message hidden trailside. Of course this peaked our interest and demanded our attention. If your really curious you can see the actual gem right HERE. So with that we began to scour the hillside. It didn’t take long before we located the items that were meant to debilitate us on the infamous TBT ride. The scheme was cunning and the authors knew that we would not have been able to resist the temptation thus successfully taking out all attacks that the “A Team” would have surely brought. But………….. seeing how we weren’t on the TBT ride we decided to Stop and Smell the Ribbons. Kudos B Team.

An alert reader pointed me in the direction of the Sherwood Forest in search of the Devil. It was rumored that Drake Ramoray was looking for a new home for his slightly used Black Jibber Jabber. It wasn’t the good doctor but rather THIS DRAKE. So the Black Jabber was bartered,Ben’s Cycle was visited and the Black Jabber was born on a stretched nickel. The plan is not to feel bad riding this steed in the winter and the muck. So far I am loving the steel fork. We’ll see how much love I’ll have left for it after the Kettles tomorrow (12 noon at the Muir if your nasty).
