I meant to get a post up yesterday But things just didn’t work out that way.

Thursday I saw some road time on the shifter bike and thing were going well until I flatted about 5  miles from home. No biggie. I got tools and patch kits. So I pull into the shade, fix er up and start rollin tough again………..for at least 1 mile. Then another flat. Just figuring that it wasn’t meant to be I start walking and was eventually accosted by a nice 70 year old who gave me a lift to the Casa de Picco. He told me that he used to do Tri’s so he knew what it was like to be stranded on a road bike. I must of looked pathetic so he was nice enough to help a brother out.

I’m at a point in the year where I dread having to work on anything bike related. especially a road bike wheel, tire and tube. This has got to be my 7th such interaction like this since April. I pull the tube off, find the second puncture and replace the tube, air it up and set the bike aside as I know that I’m going to need it to try to redeem myself on the newly formed “Thank God It’s Frodo” morning session, Which if you remember shoves off at an ungodly time of 0600 in full hammer mode!

Friday Morn comes around and the bike is sitting on a flat……………….FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Grab the fixed gear bike and the mountain bike and the morning will be left up to us. We opted for the fixies and set out for the 2 hour Kenosha loop. Wind was light and I was able to do my share this time around.

Thing felt really solid and the low down looked like this:

37.30 Miles traveled in 1:54:32 with an average speed of 19.5 mph and a leg popping max of 29.17 mph on the 42×16 geared fixie. HR was pegged in low to mid 70% range. Things are feeling good and seem to be on the right track.

Speaking of the track I even got to see some dog tracking with out making it to the Dairyland Dog Track.
