With WORS race #2on todays schedule I was a no call no show. It’ll be a fine balance this year and as nmuch as I would have liked to get out there today I just couldn’t pull it off. Props to the racers and peeps today as they, as usual, had the results posted promptly.
So while others were out suffering I was sittin back watching kids baseball, then more baseball, then some soccer sprinkled in for good measure. So I decided that I still had a little funk left in me after going to a Brewers game on Friday so I woke up early and got the knobby tired bike out for a bit. I made the roughly 12 mile jaunt, via mostly bike path, to Pets and spun around a quick one through the woods and then turned for home. That’s probably only the second time that I’ve done that on the shifter bike this year. I was easily feeling the wind on the way home and I was kinda wishing that I had some nubby bar ends too more than a time or two.
Buy mid day I figured that I’d have a couple of hours were I could sneak out for some more time and I took the singlespeed out for another 15 miles or so, this time with a little and all trails in Pets. The trails were sooper flowie and all the hikers, vagrants, kids, pushers, bums and otherwise Sunday punks were well off of the trails by 5PM on this Sunday. It seems to make things hassle free when this happens. I’ll have to remember that. So after shooting around the ‘long loops’ out at Pets I came across a set of tire tracks that was swervie like it was laid down by a Wisconsin Rattler. I started getting a little nervous cause if I had to guess I was thinking that that snake has gotta be at least 2.1 inches wide. Upon further review I realized that it was just from my back tire.
Well tomorrow I’ll try to slide up to the Bike Shop to pick up my road bike and hopefully the Mock 5. Now I just gotta see if we can fight off the rain that is scheduled for the next 2 days.
