Pete’s got a little Captain in him

Best part of the first week of bike mania was getting some fresh upgrades for the new Haro thanks to The Don and Hayes Bicycle Group. So far I was able to get a much needed Manitou Circus for a little squish up front, a set of sick sick sick Sun Ringle Rhyno Lite wheels with their buttery single speed rear 8mm bolt on hub (thanks Russell) , and a red cockpit with Answer stem and bars. I liked the bike before but now it’s rock solid with these quality upgrades.

Fresh Whips

Well we picked up the new DJ Bikes from Ben’s and after cannibalizing parts from the white Gunnar RockHound i was able to piece together Mr. Whipple. Haro Steel Reserve which the name alone makes it STREET. You wouldn’t know it watching me jump on the thing but this bike just want to sky. So that meant a couple of trips to Ray’s this week.

Here’s JayTeeh on his HSR. By the end of the night he owned this line

Here’s Ryan getting loose. Tuff enuff to pull off a pink lid

With a little help we were even able to put a DJ Gary Fisher Mullet together for MJ

Here’s a side view of it. If you click on the pic you can see Coop giving expert coaching advice to the lad which is always appreciated. Thanks Coop. Next on the list is to get some appropriate parts for Mr. Whipple like some of THESE, one of THESE, THIS, and some of THESE and of course THIS. See you there

Sunday BMX Nite

At Ray’s MTB Park

Which means $12 admission after 4PM and all the Mehtul that you can handle!…..\m/  The hardest part of the night was fighting I-94 traffic. While The Belle wasn’t involved everything just to the north of us got dumped on. There were 3 accidents on the I in between the County line and College. One even included a single vehicle rollover and one we got up there the night was jump nite. Just getting comfortable with the expert line and keeping speed up. Things went well and we packed a 3 hr session in in no time.

Rode around, came up with a loop called the 4X4. 4 cross country loops with a 4 lap pump track dead smack in each lap. It’ll start to catch up to you after a lil bit. This post is actually kind of a quiz too. I cropped out the very first pic intentionally leaving out the larger part of the picture. Can you tell what else is partially in the pic?? No….not just snow, there somthing else and if you figure it out greatness will be awaiting.

When you finally give up you take a look at the entire picture right HERE. Yuhh…that’s how it was going down in the middle of BMX nite. Luckily that there was the always helpful and attentive staff at Ray’s. It seems like that place can jam a months worth of urban, dirt jump, bmx park, and xc trail riding into a single day and 100,000 square feet. And with that many people riding around some one’s bound to have an off day. If you get queasy you might not wanna look but there is a picture. If you’re sic and somewhat deranged and twisted you can take a look at some of the after effects right HERE. Of course you looked.

Hopefully a couple of bikes come into the shop tomorrow and we’ll be back up at the spot on Tuesday night. Get u some.

No School

No problem. The boy and I headed to Rays for the day (meaning from 12-6!!). Thanks to Jay and Nater for the use of the bike, MJ was hard pressed to want to get off of that thing. We appreciated it.

Good times
